The old stable was constructed by the Lord of the Manor, Thomas Mills Goodlake, over 150 years ago and up until the 1950s was used to house the farm’s working horses and for milking cows. No longer suited to modern farming methods it gradually fell into disrepair until its recent conversion into two self catering units. This has preserved the building for the future and you can now enjoy a holiday in this peaceful Oxfordshire retreat.

Church Farm is a family run organic dairy farming business. We are proud of our practices and animal welfare and you can arrange to view milking in progress when you visit. Guests are welcome to enjoy the farm surroundings although we do apply some restrictions for the safety of guests.

The first reference to the village of Shellingford was in the Saxon charter of A.D. 931 when King Athelstan granted the land to the monastery of Abingdon. It remains a small but vibrant rural community.

There are many footpaths to explore around the village and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The farm itself has over 30 acres of woodland and there is plenty of wildlife to look out for including roe deer, skylarks, lapwings, buzzards, barn owls and badgers to name just a few.

The local B roads are ideal for cycling excursions (bikes are available for hire). Uffington White Horse, Great Coxwell Barn and the market town of Faringdon are all within 5miles distance.

Golf , fishing, canoeing, horse riding, boating, farm parks and a public swimming pool and gym are available all within 10 miles.

The nearest pub and shop are within two miles and a convenient local taxi service is available.
