Self catering Oxfordshire

"A base for exploring the heart of England, a peaceful retreat in the Oxfordshire countryside"
Two self catering cottages (4 – 10 persons) located in the charming village of Shellingford. The cottages are converted former stables and farm outbuildings providing excellent accommodation in a picturesque village setting.
Close to Faringdon (3 miles) in the Vale of the White Horse, Shellingford is on the ‘threshold of the Cotswolds’ and an ideal base for touring Oxford (17 miles), Cheltenham (40 miles), Bath (53 miles) and London (80 miles). There are many places of historic interest locally including the Uffington White Horse and plenty of activities for the kids to do within easy reach by car.
This is an excellent location for county pursuits. Walkers will enjoy the surrounding footpaths and close proximity to two national trails, the Thames path and the Ridgeway. The relatively quiet local roads are ideal for cycling. Fishing, golf and riding are also popular locally.
Aside from Oxford, The Designer Outlet Village in Swindon is a good place to pick up a bargain and the local farm centre and craft shops offer a range of gifts. There are festivals happening throughout the year including the International Air Tattoo at Fairford and Faringdon Arts Festival.
Whether just ‘getting away from it all’ or using us as a base to explore the local attractions, you can be assured of a warm welcome and we will do all we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
